About

The Mornington Peninsula Contemporary Art Prize (MPCAP) is an annual themed prize for artists, run by artists. The entries must be an artwork inspired by the theme of this years prize. The Exhibition will be held at Cook Street Collective gallery, in Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula. A judging panel will select the finalists.

Best Mornington Peninsula Work – non-acquisitive – $1,000

Theme for 2024

Walking + Knowing

The theme for this year’s prize reflects the concept of understanding landscape through immersion, observation, connection, and deep listening in order to gain knowledge of a place.

It can also be true that the knowledge learnt is of the self – the personal geography, therefore the theme is not limited to the classic landscape.
